Welcome to Rumi Persian (Iranian) Cuisine

We look forward to welcoming you into our little family ran Persian restaurant in the heart of the beautiful Parnell village with a warm and traditional decor where we serve you authentic Persian dishes that will take you on a culinary journey to the Ancient Persia and the Middle East.

Our restaurant is named after Rumi a renowned Persian poet, philosopher and Sufi figure known for his mystical thoughts and inspirational poems.

‘Live life as if everything is rigged in your favor.’  and ‘Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.’ Rumi

With more than 9000 years of history and despite of sharing common elements and philosophy with our Afghan, Arab, Turk, Greek, Azeri, Israeli and Russian neighbors and friends, the Iranian cooking presents a unique and very well refined traditional cuisine still not discovered by many in the world due to our recent history and political isolation. Iranian food is prepared with love and patience and together with our art, poetry and hospitality, we’d love the opportunity to share some elements of our culture with you and likewise learn from your whakapapa (ancestry).

We have limited seating so please book in advance in order for us to have the opportunity to serve you with the best service and food.
